Trebinje is said that the city of the sun and plane trees. Today it is considered one the most beautiful cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Traffic, Trebinje is well connected to other towns in the area (30km Dubrovnik, Mostar 120 km, 70 km Nikšić, Herceg Novi 40 km). The advantage is the proximity of Trebinje four airports: Cilipi (40km), Tivat (65 km) Mostar (115 km) and Podgorica (130 km).

Trebinje is first mentioned in the X century by Constantine Porphyrogenitus called Tribunia, which was later changed to Travunia. The present name dates back to the sixteenth century. Like the entire Balkan region, and Trebinje had different masters and they all left a trace in architecture, as well as the culture and customs; so you will be here to welcome churches, cathedrals and mosques, but the Old town with walls from the Turkish period. Climate in Trebinje is a typical Mediterranean climate with an average annual temperature of 14.2 ° C and 270 sunny days a year. The climate of this region is characterized by specific vegetation (figs, pomegranates, olives, citrus fruits, vines, herbs …), as well as a specific way of life typical of the Mediterranean.

One of the largest underground river in Europe, Trebišnjica, flowing through the city. Its length is about 98 km from underground flows 187 km. The waters of this river meets the criteria of watercourses and class. One of the attractions to the river -Trebišnjica jumping from the bridge which is held every summer in the period July – August.

The most beautiful view of the city from the five bridges are provided with picnic Crkvina where there is a temple of the Holy Virgin in which there are the mortal remains of the poet and diplomat Jovan Ducic. This temple is a true copy of the monastery of Gracanica in Kosovo (acka Gračanica) within the complex is a bell tower, gallery, parish hall, amphitheater, a fountain, a small church bookstore and a summer garden.

In Trebinje is located Herzegovina Museum, located in the old town in the Austrian barracks from the end of the nineteenth century.
